The Moment a Family Forgot I Was There
It’s not every time that I find myself holding back tears behind a camera.
But on a recent session in the park, watching a family lost in their own world, that’s exactly what I did. It was a moment so pure, that it reminded me of the profound reason I do what I do. It was a moment of true, authentic connection.
The session was with one of the loveliest of families and their four-year-old daughter. We had been playing in the park – kicking balls and blowing bubbles. Then they sat down on a large, smooth rock, nestled among the trees. With chalk in hand, the little girl’s face lit up.

Forgetting the Camera
What happened next was pure magic.
The parents and their daughter huddled close, their heads bowed together as they began to draw: a dolphin, an apple, an elephant.
Their quiet murmurs and shared smiles created a bubble of intimacy around them. The little girl, giggling, pointed at her father’s drawing, and he tickled her until she shrieked with delight. Her mother wrapped an arm around them both, her expression one of complete, peaceful love.
They were so absorbed in their creative project, so connected in that small, shared world on the rock, that they completely forgot about me.
There was only the three of them, the chalk dust on their fingers, and the story they were creating together.
Watching them, I felt like a privileged spectator to something incredibly private and beautiful. It was a raw, authentic window into their family’s heart. I even felt almost unease, as if I shouldn’t be there.
Yet that’s exactly why I was there, to capture the tenderness and joy that flowed so effortlessly between them. Rare, perfect moments that defines what it means to be a family.
Crafting a Space for Authenticity
People often ask me how I capture such natural, emotional photographs. The secret isn’t in the camera or the lighting (okay maybe that too :).
But it’s also in creating an environment where families feel safe enough to be themselves.
As a trusted family photographer in Zurich, my goal is never to pose you to make you feel uncomfortable, but to provide a space where you can let your guard down and simply enjoy being with the people you love most.
A photo session should feel like a wonderful day out, an adventure where you can play, laugh, and connect.
It’s about engineering a fun, effortless experience where the joy is yours and the work is mine.
When you as a family feel comfortable and at ease, you forget you’re being photographed.
✨ And that’s when the real moments happen! The spontaneous cuddles, the inside jokes, the quiet looks of love. These are the memories worth holding onto FOREVER.
This is the core foundation of my work: building a bond of trust that allows your family’s story to unfold naturally.
It’s a privilege to be invited into your life, and my promise is to honour that trust by capturing the moments that truly matter.
More Than Just Photographs
The images from that day are filled with a warmth that you can almost feel. They tell a story of connection, a story of a family so deeply in tune with one another that the rest of the world faded away.
These are a gift for their daughter to hold close for a lifetime. One day, she will look at these photographs and not just see her parents, but feel the love that wrapped around her on that sunny morning.
Your family’s journey is unique, and my passion is to capture its beauty, its tenderness, and its laughter.
These are the memories that will adorn your walls and fill the pages of your albums, reminding you every day of the love you share. Because these moments, the ones where you forget anyone is watching, are the most precious ones of all.
