Frequently Asked Questions

Are the workshop materials suitable for beginners with no prior graphic design experience?

Absolutely! Our workshop is designed for beginners with no prior graphic design experience.

In fact, the whole idea of the workshop is to teach people, who are not designers, tips and tricks to improve their visuals. However, it would be useful if you are already a little familiar with Canva or any other design platform, as our focus is more on design principles rather than teaching how to use these programs.

Will I receive personalised guidance and support from the graphic designer during the workshop?

Yes! The morning will kick off with a presentation on graphic design rules, tips and tricks for your social media design.

Then, throughout the whole event (from 10:45 to 12:00 and then again after lunch, between 13:00 and 14:30), while individuals are taking turns for the photo sessions with Kati, Francesca will be available to assist the rest of the group working on their own social media designs.

Will I need to bring my own computer?

Yes. The event is designed to be highly practical, allowing you to learn the basics and then apply them directly to your designs and projects.

Having your own computer and your preferred design platform already set up will ensure that you can make the most of the workshop. This way, you’ll have the opportunity to try things out firsthand and ask Francesca any questions you may have on the spot, maximising your learning experience.

Is there a specific software or tool we will be using for designing social media visuals during the workshop?

During the workshop, we won’t be focusing on a specific platform. The presentation and subsequent workshop time will cover general design rules, tips, and tricks.

Feel free to use the design platform you’re already familiar with for your social media posts, such as Canva or Adobe Illustrator.

Can I bring my own photos to the workshop if I already have some professional shots?

Yes of course, you can use whatever visual material you need for the successful design of your social media visuals. This may include photography, illustrations and icons.

How much does it cost?

The whole event costs 195fr, which includes the workshop run by Francesca, 3 photos taken by Kati, and lunch made by the wonderful Julie from Our Happy Place.

What do I get?

You’ll learn basics design rules to help you create visually appealing, on-brand graphics in Canva, personalised help with your own designs, 3 photos of yourself, and lunch.

What outfit/s should I wear during the photo session?

I always advise you to wear something that you feel comfortable in. It will make you more relaxed and less conscious in front of the camera. You can also incorporate your brand colours with added accessories like rings, necklaces or scarves.

Do I need to bring props with me for the photo session?

You can bring props that either have your brand colours, such as pens, notebooks etc, or we can incorporate some of your products or tools necessary for your job.

Can I choose my own photos?

Yes of course! You’ll be able to choose your favourite three images out of 10 photos, presented to you in an online gallery.  Should you like more than three, you are welcome to purchase them at fr50 per image.
