YourPersonal Portal

Once again, welcome!

I truly appreciate your trust and can’t wait to photograph you all.
It’s going to be so much fun!

On this page you can find most of the information
you’ll need before and after your session.

Table of Contents

Before the Session

Here you’ll find general information on how to prepare for your photo shoot as well as specific info for your location.

The Session

The session will be relaxed and fun. The way I work is not necessarily about the perfect image where everyone is smiling at the camera. It’s all about capturing your family having fun together and your emotions for one another.

We usually start off with you walking back and forth together, talking, playing, and I will occasionally make suggestions to move you better into the light, or call you to look in to the camera.

Since it is fall, we can always throw leaves, it’s so much fun for everyone!

The Weather

Outdoor shoots are dependent on the weather. However, a cloudy sky or a little drizzle shall not deter us!

I generally wait till about an hour before the shoot to make a decision regarding the weather, and if it’s only drizzling slightly, we will go ahead.

Rainboots and umbrellas always make for a cute accessory. And leaves are even more beautiful when wet! However, if it rains heavily, we’ll postpone to another day or time.

Zurich Old Town

For the session at the City Centre, there are plenty of parking options (for example, Parkhaus Urania).  I am a big fan of public transport, so I would always opt for that 🙂

On Saturday morning, we will meet at Lindenhof,
on Sunday morning at the bottom of Augustinergasse (intersection Bahnhofstrasse).

Please make sure to arrive in time. You can always take a stroll beforehand.

Katzensee

For the session at Katzensee (or Chatzensee), parking is available right next to the woods by the lake, at Wehntaler Strasse 760, 8046 Zürich. The parking fee is CHF 1 per hour and can be paid in cash or via TWINT.

We’ll be meeting at Seebad Katzensee. From the car park, just walk straight towards the woods, and continue straight past the fountain on your right.

Please be aware, should you arrive via motorway, there is usually heavy traffic around the Gubrist Tunnel. So please make sure to arrive in time.

Pricing

Included in the price of CHF 350 are 5 digital images in high resolution.

About 2 weeks after the photo shoot, you’ll receive a link to a password-protected online gallery, where you can choose your images from 25 in total. These images have received a quick edit to correct exposure etc., but distracting objects etc have not been altered yet. Once you have chosen your favourites,  I’ll edit those images each individually to their final look.

The online gallery will be open for two weeks only and I’d like to ask you to make a decision within that time. Because Christmas is approaching, I want to make sure to deliver your images in time to be able to print presents.

If you fall in love with your photos and aren’t able to choose just 5, you are more than welcome to purchase more. However, there is no obligation.
These are the prices:

  • One extra image = CHF 60
  • 5 extra images = CHF 250
  • 10 extra images = CHF 450
  • 20 extra images = CHF 750

Frequently Asked Questions

Will you give us advice on what to wear?

Sure! I am more than happy to create a colour palette for you and look at outfits that you can send me via Whatsapp.

I’ve also written an article about it, which you can read HERE.

I don’t believe in the weather forecast 🙂 Because they are just forecasts and aren’t always right. I tend to wait till an hour before the session to make a judgment. Together, we will decide if we should go ahead or postpone.

However, a shoot in the light drizzle can be just as nice since the surrounding nature is much more contrasty when wet. And sometimes, we might even get a rainbow. Read this article HERE.

Not really, you just show up with your family, in a good mood.

Make sure to remove everything from your pockets and to put mobile phones away so that no-one gets distracted.

For most parts, I suggest not to pressure them and promise any rewards. Just go with the flow and enjoy a fun day with your family. For more detailed information, I urge you to read this article.

Please don’t worry too much! Children are curious little creatures and will come around. We just let them be for a while. In the meantime, I continue photographing you and the rest of the family, and at some point, your crying child will likely get nosy and wants to be involved. HERE is a great article about an 8 year old who felt exactly like that during a session, and what we did to help him feel better.

I am fluent in both languages. So, whichever is more comfortable for you, is good for me. It is your experience, and I want you to have a relaxing and enjoyable time.

When will our images be ready?

The choosing and preparing of your images usually takes 2 to 3 weeks. You will then get to see your images via a secure online gallery, in which you can choose your favourites.

At the reveal session, you will be presented with all successful images from your session. These images have had a quick edit to correct white balance, exposure etc. Once you’ve chosen your favourites, I’ll edit each photo individually, giving them the final look as part of the photography process.

Of course! I have many years of experience working with families and I am here for you all the way. Getting not just a professional opinion but also one from someone outside your family sometimes helps enormously.

Raw or unedited images are not available for purchase. The finished product is an edited jpeg image, which is part of my artistic interpretation and the entire photography experience.

I don’t deliver photos in different colour variations. The editing method of colour photos and black&white photos is a completely different process.

From my experience, you will never print the same photo in colour and in black&white.

As mentioned in our contract, I will make basic adjustments like removing skin blemishes, stains or rubbish bins in the background. However, I do not make alterations to body shapes etc., but can offer this as an additional option.

One Last Important Note

  1. Please be punctual! These session work with me taking photos of families back to back. This means there might be families booked before and after you.
Unfortunately, I don’t have more than a maximum of 30 minutes per family and I cannot extend your session.
  2. Remove all mobile phones and other things from your pockets (pants, trousers, coats). They leave bulky marks which don’t look great in photos.
  3. Keep mobile phones away in your bag (not your pockets) as they distract your kids, or you, from engaging with your kids. Authentic and meaningful photos are created when you engage with each other and have fun.
  4. Do NOT promise your (small) kids a reward before the session has even begun. Children don’t have a sense of time and might want their treat after the very first photo already.
  5. Make sure your partner is informed about this list too 🙂

Last but not least, expect lots of loud and funny noises from me 😂
